Our Story
History of the Department of Statistics
The Department of Statistics was established on August 3, 2018, under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The Statistics Study Program operates under the Department of Statistics, based on Rector’s Decree No. 1743/UN11/KPT/2018. The Bachelor’s Degree (S1) Program in Statistics was established on August 24, 2012, through the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture (KEMENDIKBUD) No. 279/E/O/2012, and welcomed its first cohort of students in 2013.
Currently, the Bachelor’s Degree (S1) Program in Statistics has more than 400 active students, while over 50 of its alumni have pursued careers across various sectors such as industry, corporations, and government institutions as statisticians or in other related fields.
