
The Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FMIPA USK), organized a student send-off event for participation in the Impactful Internship Program for the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The activity was held on February 18, 2026, at UPTD Statistik Diskominsa Aceh.
A total of 21 Statistics students were officially assigned to take part in the internship program, which aims to provide practical experience and strengthen students’ competencies in applied statistics. This program is part of the Department’s efforts to support the development of human resources that are adaptive to the demands of the workforce, particularly in data and information management.
The event began with a welcoming speech from the Head of UPTD Statistik Diskominsa Aceh, Sayid Azhary, ST, M.Si., who expressed his expectations for students to actively contribute and make the most of this internship as a valuable learning opportunity in a professional environment. This was followed by remarks from a Statistics lecturer of USK, Ridha Ferdhiana, S.Si., M.Sc., who emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism, discipline, and the ability to apply knowledge gained during academic studies.

During the internship, students will be directly involved in various activities, including the management of communication and information media, as well as data management within the Aceh Provincial Government. Through this engagement, students are expected to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings while enhancing their analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
This send-off activity also serves as a momentum to strengthen collaboration between the Department of Statistics FMIPA USK and UPTD Statistik Diskominsa Aceh in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, particularly within the impactful internship scheme.
Through this program, students are expected to gain valuable experience that not only enhances their academic competencies but also prepares them to face future professional challenges.
